Where we've been

MMB Engineering Ltd is a Whangarei based company that was established in 1997 with the purchase by the present owners of an existing engineering operation that dealt mainly with the road transport area as a specialist motor body builder.

Since that time the company has taken some other directions and we now see ourselves as a specialist aluminium fabricator with a number of standard products in that medium as well as dealing with one off projects ranging from marine work, industrial plant and equipment, on-site maintenance and installation as well as continuing in the road transport sector.

Although we work in aluminium we are not restricted to that and we also work with stainless steel and carbon steel raw materials and have developed methods and procedures to cover a wide range of varying situations.

In 2002 after moving into a new purpose built workshop and office facility we took over a local company that was building small hydraulic elevators and set a separate company structure known as Freedom Lifts Ltd to develop and market these and that development has lead to light commercial lifts to service up to four floor levels.

Because these elevators often installed for the use of disabled persons this has lead to the installation and servicing of disability equipment which we undertake for the Accident Compensation Corporation and Environmental Health Management Services Ltd which is funded by the Government Health Services.

We are members of the VANZ, Vehicle Association of New Zealand for People with Disabilities Inc. and two of our senior management are on that committee.
